take-back program
The shaft is the easy part. Getting it back is the work.
blythe ear swab shafts are made from recyclable PP. The cotton tip isn't — which is why we're building a take-back programme that asks you to do one simple thing: cut the cotton off, collect the shafts, and send them back to us when you have a full bag. We handle the recycling from there.
The programme is currently in development. We're working out return packaging, collection frequency, and processing before we ask anyone to participate. We'll launch it when it's ready — not before.

Less in the formula means less everywhere else.
Both blythe formulas are eleven ingredients. Short formulas mean smaller batches, less water, less energy per unit, and less waste at every stage. Every ingredient is biodegradable within standard wastewater treatment parameters. Neither formula contains microplastics, silicones, or persistent synthetic polymers.

What we won't claim
Carbon neutral. Zero waste. Fully sustainable. These claims require third-party verification we don't yet have. When we earn them, we'll say so. Until then, this page is what we have.

FSC Certified
Our paper supplier
The Forest Stewardship Council certification confirms our paper tube and outer box are sourced from responsibly managed forests. Both the blythe ear paper tube and outer FSC box are produced at an FSC-certified factory.
ISO 22716 — Cosmetics GMP
Our manufacturer
ISO 22716 is the international standard for Good Manufacturing Practice in cosmetics. Our manufacturing partner holds this certification, covering production, control, storage, and shipment of finished cosmetic products.
ISO 9001 — Quality Management
Our manufacturer
ISO 9001 covers the quality management systems our manufacturer operates under. It governs consistency, traceability, and process control across production.
30% PCR Content
Our canister supplier
The blythe clear canister is manufactured with 30% post-consumer recycled HDPE. The recycled content is verified by our supplier against material certificates provided at each production run.
INCI Published

We publish the full INCI ingredient list for both products, including functional roles for every ingredient. This is a brand standard we hold ourselves to — not a third-party certification. No proprietary blends.
Board-Certified Vet Reviewed

Both formulas have been reviewed by a board-certified veterinary toxicologist (DABVT) for safe daily use. This is a brand standard — we commissioned the review and hold the documentation. It is not a third-party certification programme.
Kerbside Recyclable Components

Every component has a defined end-of-life path. The paper tube and FSC carton recycle with paper; the canister (HDPE #2) and flip-top lid (PP #5) are accepted by most US kerbside programmes. The swab shaft returns through our take-back programme.
