The base of the formula. We use purified water as the carrier for all active ingredients — nothing added, nothing mineral-rich enough to interfere with the actives.

A polysaccharide derived from oat that calms irritated skin and supports the skin barrier. Chosen specifically for its compatibility with sensitive ear canal tissue.

A medium-chain fatty acid derived from coconut. Disrupts the cell membranes of common ear pathogens including Malassezia yeast — the primary cause of otitis in dogs — without the harshness of alcohol-based alternatives.

Pro-vitamin B5. Converts to pantothenic acid on the skin surface, supporting tissue repair and hydration. Included to offset any mild drying effect from the antimicrobial actives.

Maintains the formula's pH within the optimal range for canine ear canal tissue (6.2–6.8). Also provides light keratolytic activity to prevent debris accumulation without stripping the skin.

The Tris buffering system stabilises the formula's pH across temperature fluctuations and storage conditions. Works alongside Lactic Acid to hold the formula in the therapeutic pH window.

Binds trace metal ions in the formula that could otherwise destabilise the actives or support microbial growth. Enhances the efficacy of the preservative system at a low inclusion rate.

Plant-derived. Attracts and retains moisture at the skin surface, contributing to the formula's gentle, non-stripping finish.

Included at 0.5% — half the industry standard maximum of 1%. Reviewed and confirmed safe at this concentration by our board-certified veterinary toxicologist. The only concentration we disclose by convention; all others are available in the full safety dossier.

Works in combination with Phenoxyethanol to maintain the formula's microbial stability. Included at a low level — it allows the Phenoxyethanol to be effective at a reduced percentage.

Used as a final pH corrector during manufacturing to ensure the formula meets specification. Present at trace levels.
